Abu Dhabi Crown Prince sends special Emergency equipment to Nepal

Kathmandu / The emergency consignment of medical equipment and supplies, including ventilators, to fight against COVID 19 pandemic in Nepal send by His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan ( MBZ) the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi arrived to Kathmandu today.

When the second wave of COVID 19 started to hit Nepal, HE Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi was very worried and asked his closed staffs to monitor Nepal’s COVID 19 situations in  the UAE. Whereas in Nepal under the direction of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali initiated bilateral talks to various leaders and renowned academics in the United Arab Emirates and instructed Nepal Embassy to coordinate diplomatically.

As a results, 10 tons of emergency medical equipments arrived to Tribhuvan international airport today.

Acknowledging the receipts of urgent humanitarian health support from the people of UAE PM Oli thanked His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his continuous support and appreciated Crown Prince‘s global humanitarian initiatives.

Prime Minister Oli is looking forward to welcome His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Nepal soon. PM Oli believes that His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s visit would help not only bilateral relationship between Nepal and the UAE but also facilitate to strengthen regional humanitarian cooperation and strengthen people’s livelihoods in rural Nepal.

This is the second time the United Arab Emirates is supporting Nepal to deal with current COVID 19 crises. In April 2020 last year His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had send the first support to Nepal.

PM Oli said he would also like to express his sincere thank you to diplomatic missions of the both countries and particularly to Dr. Faisal Obeid Al-Ayyan, Academic Vice President of Rabdan Academy and his team for their facilitation to support people of Nepal.
